To do this we encourage you to join another set of professional sessions, this time from Fitch Ratings, for mock interviews and career advice to practice your interviewing skills and gain invaluable preparation for the job market!

 

This is our first time holding an in-person mock interview event since before COVID, so take advantage of this special opportunity to be paired with an employee with a background in law, insurance, finance, and more! They will give expert feedback and advice for your career questions.

One To World Hike: Breakneck Ridge along the Hudson River

Get fresh air and experience incredible views of the Hudson River!

 

After riding the scenic Hudson train line from Grand Central, we’ll climb the challenging Breakneck Ridge that has a peak of 1260 feet or 384 meters. Warning: this hike will have rock scrambling and will be challenging for first time hikers. Our plan is to do will be a full loop of about 6 miles. It should take roughly 4 hours.

 

Ticket does not include lunch or your train ticket. We encourage you to bring lunch and eat it when we reach the top of the mountain. Happy trails!

One To World Walk: The Two Squares – Union to Madison

Uncover the secrets behind New York City’s iconic urban landscape on our immersive walking tour led by a distinguished expert!

 

Join us as we stroll through Gramercy Park and the Flatiron District, delving into the principles that defined the city’s grid system. We’ll also explore how public spaces like Madison and Union Square were ingeniously designed to fit within irregular city blocks. Through an engaging and interactive experience, you’ll gain a deep understanding of NYC’s architectural evolution from 1811 to the present day, developing a newfound appreciation for the intricacies of urban planning.

 

Our guide, William Singer, AIA, is a Code and Zoning Specialist for The City of New York Department of Buildings Development and Technical Affairs. He is an expert in the design and construction of large-scale public facilities. His major projects have included justice centers, transportation hubs, and cultural centers. Before joining the Department of Buildings he was a partner at Gruzen Samton, a NYC & Virginia-based architecture, planning, interior design and systems engineering firm. A Fulbright fellow (Slovenia, 1993-94), he holds a Master of Architecture degree from the School of Design at North Carolina State University, as well as a Master of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In 2004, Singer received a City of New York Arts Commission Excellence in Design for the renovation design of El Museo Del Barrio.
