SUMMARY:One To World Walk: Hike in Hudson Highlands
DESCRIPTION:Take a break from the city and enjoy an outside adventure with your fellow international students! We are heading to the Hudson Highlands with Robert Snyder\, longtime friend of OTW and Professor of American Studies and Journalism at Rutgers University\, for a day out in nature. You will get the chance to experience more of what New York State has to offer\, while connecting with each other and our host. \n  \nWe will travel by train to Garrison\, New York (about a 90-minute trip from New York City)\, where we will hike up Sugarloaf Mountain and overlook the beautiful Hudson Valley. The walk will be in a wooded area and steep\, so please wear suitable outdoor shoes\, long pants\, and bring lots of water. Ticket cost includes round-trip train and guided hike with Rob. DESCRIPTION:Join us for our last Corporate Governance session in the West Village to learn more about enhancing your skills in the corporate world. Come prepared to gain further insight about the importance of corporate governance from two new speakers. Even if you haven’t attended either of the previous sessions\, each event is different\, so we encourage you to join if you are interested! \nCheryl Wade  \nCheryl L. Wade is the “Dean Harold F. McNiece” Professor of Law at St. John’s University School of Law. She teaches Issues of Race\, Gender and Law\, Business Organizations\, Corporate Governance and Accountability\, and Race and Business.  Her book\, “Predatory Lending and The Destruction of the African American Dream” was published by Cambridge University Press in July 2020 and was coauthored with Dr. Janis Sarra\, Professor of Law\, Peter A. Allard School of Law\, University of British Columbia. Professor Wade is a member of the American Law Institute\, a national organization of prominent judges\, lawyers and academics who work to clarify\, modernize and reform the law. \n  \nDavid Rosenberg \nProfessor David Rosenberg teaches in the Law Department at Baruch College and is Director of the Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity. He has written extensively on the fiduciary duties of corporate directors and the evolving definition of good faith and loyalty under Delaware law. His most recent research has focused on the free speech and religious rights of the various stakeholders in a corporation. Professor Rosenberg is also a member of the consortial faculty of CUNY’s Macaulay Honors College where he teaches a course on the history of New York City. \n  \nAttending this event is also an opportunity to qualify for a scholarship of up to $750! \nTo apply\, please submit an essay here of no more than 900 words\, answering the question: “What is the number one corporate governance issue in your home country and how would you address it?” There is a first-place prize of $750\, and a second-place prize of $500\, made possible by the Harold S.
