Community Service: Play Basketball with Youth with Disabilities

Event Details

Date: 03/02/19 Cost: $7 Time: 9:15 AM Location: Brooklyn

We are partnering on a new program with Kids Enjoy Exercise Now (KEEN), a non-profit organization whose mission is to empower youth with disabilities by providing them with non-competitive, individual programs of exercise, fitness and fun. Each event is structured so that each volunteer "coach" is assigned one youth, or “athlete.”

This Brooklyn basketball indoor program is for athletes who wish to shoot some hoops, practice their ball-handling skills, and improve their footwork in a team setting. Athletes are eager to meet and interact with new volunteers, so seize this chance to participate in a unique program and make a difference!

Come as you are! No prior experience working with disabled individuals is required – KEEN provides a training before each session and you will receive a profile with details about your athlete’s abilities as well as helpful coaching hints.

Date: Saturday, March 2nd

 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM

Registration Deadline:
Thursday, February 28th by 5:00 PM
