Metropolitan Opera Performance: Otello

Event Details

One To World has secured tickets to the final dress rehearsal of Tony Award winning Director Bartlett Sher's Otello at The Metropolitan Opera.

Written by Shakespeare in 1604 and adapted by Giuseppe Verdi in the late 1870's, Otello is often cited as Italian opera’s greatest tragedy. The relevance of its themes of jealousy, discrimination, racism, and revenge remains intact today. The Opera recounts the story of a general in the Venetian army, Otello, whose Machiavellian and villainous officer, Iago, is plotting behind his back. Wanting to destroy Otello once and for all, Iago plans on taking away the one thing he holds most dear, his faithful wife Desdemona.
