Community Service: Urban Farming in Harlem

Event Details

Date: 08/25/18 Cost: $15 Time: 10:45 AM Location: Harlem

For the first time, we are partnering with Harlem Grown, a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire youth to lead healthy and ambitious lives through mentorship and hands-on education in urban farming, sustainability, and nutrition. We will be volunteering with them at their urban farm in the heart of Harlem on what promises to be an inspiring Saturday in August!

As part of our service project, we will be getting a personal tour of their main farm and greenhouse, and we will hear Harlem Grown's story from its Founder and Executive Director, Tony Hillery. We will then dive into various farm tasks that may include planting, weeding, watering, cleaning, harvesting, chicken care, and composting. We hope you will donate some of your time this summer to join us!

Date: Saturday, August 25th

Time: 10:45 AM - 1:00 PM (approximately)
